Alum Success

"The education that I received at Lake Superior State University has opened many doors for me. I have worked with Firefighters and Paramedics for over thirty years as a co-worker, educator, and student. I have been very blessed in my life to have these opportunities. I truly believe that education is the cornerstone of everyone’s career and LSSU provides the best.

My future goals are to become the Director of a Fire Science program and follow in the footsteps of the great educators that I have had the privilege of learning from. This will not be easy, but I believe that these Professors have prepared me to be successful. My achievements will be a direct result of the knowledge that they have bestowed upon me. It will then be my obligation to share this knowledge with others. ”

    Arts Center

The Arts Center is a premiere facility dedicated to enriching the lives of our students and the people of our service regions. The center provides classrooms, performance and rehearsal space, and an art gallery.

The true benefit of the building extends well beyond bricks and mortar. The arts are at the core of a well-rounded education. This facility, which is the only one of its kind in the region, enhances the education of our students and provides a center for cultural events for the region. The arts also add life and understanding beyond the enjoyment of a theatrical production, a concert or the fine lines of a painting; they define us and our society.

The Arts Center provides for all of the spatial and functional requirements for classes, laboratories, rehearsal areas, individual instruction, and faculty and staff offices. The facility serves the needs of the fine arts students and of the general student population contributes significantly to the cultural life of the community.

I absolutely love the small size of LSSU. Everything on campus is within a short walking distance. Also, with smaller class sizes, it’s much easier to get to know people. There are even professors I had from a couple of years ago that still remember me. It has even become difficult for me to walk across campus without running into someone I know. This has created a very positive experience for me. [ more ]
